- PENNIES FOR PATIENTS

- Explorers Club members at Negreet High School (NHS) showed their commitment to service by raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through a Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign.
Here’s how it works: Each classroom receives a specially labeled box into which students deposit loose change. Though the title says “pennies,” LLS is more than happy to take other coins and even bills. Students are also given a box to take home so that the whole family can participate. At the end of the program, boxes are collected and the funds given to LLS.
In total, NHS students and families raised $634.99 to help battle Leukemia and Lymphoma through research, patient and community services, public health, and professional education. Hats off to the Negreet High School Explorers Club for making a stand in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma. Even though they qualified for a pizza party compliments of LLS, students opted to pass and instead dedicate the pizza money to continuing the fight against leukemia and lymphoma.
